Connecting the dots.

11 Million Dots is a story of transformation powered by collaboration. Just as the Park Royal neighbourhood evolves, the recordings of conversations with neighbours, noises produced from businesses and ambient sounds from the environment were transformed by Raf into visual artwork symbolic of the old and new coexisting in sustainable harmony.

Recordings were made in 120 locations, reflecting the diversity of businesses, people and activities in the area. They include residents’ reflections, sounds of both industrial machinery and of nature: trees in the wind, flowing water and birds singing. Each sound has a unique visual fingerprint—its waveform—like the ones shown here.
